Bombay High Court Rejects Shilpa Shetty Kundra’s Husband Raj Kundra’s Anticipatory Bail Application – Deets Inside

On Thursday, the Bombay High Court has rejected an anticipatory bail application filed by Raj Kundra in connection with an FIR registered against him for allegedly distributing pornographic videos. Justice Nitin Sambre had reserved the order on Wednesday on Kundra’s plea seeking protection from arrest. A day ago, the bench rejected the same appeal. But the detailed order is still awaited.

Speaking more of the plea, the cyber cell of the Mumbai Police has filed a case against Kundra under Sections of the Indian Penal Code, Indecent Representation of Women (Prevention) Act, and Information Technology Act for allegedly distributing/ transmitting sexually explicit videos. Raj Kundra first sought anticipatory bail from the Sessions Court, but it was refused and then he moved to the HC. He has claimed in his application that he has been framed in the case. The FIR named actors Sherlyn Chopra and Poonam Pandey as co-accused.

Raj Kundra’s lawyers said that he was in no way connected to content creation, publication, or transmission of alleged illegal videos even as the actors, who were named as co-accused, had given full consent to shoot the videos. In July this year, Kundra was arrested by Mumbai Police in another case where he was accused of circulating porn films through an app.

Shilpa Shetty Kundra’s husband Raj Kundra was booked under sections 420 (cheating), 34 (common intention), 292, and 293 (related to obscene and indecent advertisements and displays) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), other than areas of the IT Act and the Indecent Representation of Women (Prohibition) Act. Later in September, he was granted bail by the court.

After his bail, the businessman deleted his social media accounts and cut off all contacts with the world. For so many days after his bail, he did not step out for a public appearance. Raj Kundra was recently seen with his wife Shilpa Shetty at the Mumbai airport, which was his first public appearance after stepping out of jail.
