Superstar Amitabh Bachchan was giving one hit after the other when suddenly the news of his marriage with Jaya Bachchan surfaced. But do you know how they got married in the first place?

While many people love this power couple of Bollywood, very few know about the story behind Amitabh Bachchan and Jaya Bachchan’s marriage. Last year, on their 47th anniversary, Amitabh Bachchan had shared collage of a few pictures from his wedding day while sharing their story with his fans. The superstar spoke about how his father almost forced them to marry in return for permission to go on a trip to London!

According to the actor, Jaya and him, along with a few friends had decided to go for a trip to London to celebrate the success of Zanjeer. But when his father asked who was he going with and Amitabh mentioned Jaya’s name, Harivansh Rai Bachchan immediately kept forth a condition. He said he’d only let them go together if they get married to each other. And that’s what they did, got married within 2 days!
