In the case of misusing her name to open various businesses, Rihanna has finally dropped the lawsuit against her father a day before the court hearing

After alleging monetary fraud American pop-star Rihanna has reportedly dismissed a lawsuit against her father. This comes only weeks before they were about to go to court for allegations that, Ronald Fenty used his daughter’s identity to make money without her permission.

On September 7, Rihanna and her company Roraj Trade LLC, and Combermere Entertainment Properties filed a settlement of dismissal of the whole case, according to court filings. The case identified Ronald Fenty and Moses Joktan Perkins, as well as Fenty Entertainment LLC, a California-based organization.

What is it all about?

Rihanna was said to be suing her father and the business partner Moses Joktan Perkins in January 2019 over charges that they deceived people into believing she was involved with his organisation. He allegedly sought to schedule her on an overseas tour without her authorization, including a $15 million tour, she claimed. Rihanna also claimed that her father attempted to trademark the term “Fenty” and use it to open properties, and she sought an injunction against him in court.

On Tuesday, Rihanna filed a motion to dismiss the lawsuit, which was set to go to trial on September 22. The Umbrella singer, who is the richest female musician in the world, and her father, has had a troubled connection with her for a long time, who has struggled with alcoholism and drug addiction in the past.
