Jhanvi is shocked to see that it is Champa and asks her why she was wearing her mother-in-law's attire. She suddenly realises that Champa was the one who used to roam in the house like a shadow! Champa says that her motive was to get Surajpratap's wife, Ammaji's soul released. Champa informs Jhanvi that the ashes in the urn belong to her mother-in-law. She then narrates how she had come to the house for the first time with her mother when she was four years old. After losing her mother within a year, Ammaji had looked after her. Champa further informs her that Ammaji was a very liberal lady. She mentions that the square where Jhanvi prayed everyday was the place where Ammaji had got many widows remarried. These acts would often put Ammaji in direct conflict with Surajpratap, and one day Surajpratap had beaten Ammaji in the same room where they were now. When Jhanvi asks how Ammaji had died, Champa replies that she does not know, but in order to punish Ammaji, Surajpratap had never immersed her ashes in a river after her death. Champa also says that other than Surajpratap and her, nobody else at home was aware about the ashes being at home. She mentions to Jhanvi that she saw streaks of Ammaji in her and pleads with her to have Ammaji's ashes immersed. Jhanvi is torn between getting Ammaji's soul released and her promise to Surajpratap about never rebelling against him. In Garodia Niwas, Yuvraj informs his family that Niyati and he have decided to be together again. The family is elated. Saraswati then informs her family that their lawyer had threatened Pavitra to sign the divorce papers. Menka tells her that Yuvraj and Niyati's marriage has been fixed for the next day. Payal barges into Akash's office and gives him Gauri's and his divorce papers. Akash gets furious and asserts that he will never divorce Gauri and warns her never to come between Gauri and him! The next day, Jhanvi tries to talk to Suman but Suman replies that she is too busy. Later in the day when Suman, Jhanvi and Champa are returning from the temple, masked hoodlums come and kidnap Suman. A distressed Jhanvi informs Surajpratap and others about it. On the other hand, Suman sees that it is Tiwari's men who had kidnapped her. Tiwari asks her to imagine the consequences if he were to do something amoral that would disgrace her family!
