Saraswati's trial begins and Damini begins to fret. Kapil very cleverly outsmarts Damini and makes the judge believe that Saraswati is guilty. Kapil accuses Saraswati of ruthlessly killing Bhavishya, who was mentally unstable. Damini's efforts to prove Kapil wrong go in vain. Nevertheless, she asks the judge to give her some more time, and thus saves her day. Later, after the court is adjourned, Kapil meets Damini and indirectly threatens her. He warns her that she is no match for him and advises her to quit the case as she had done in her last case. Kapil tells Damini that she will never be able defeat him. He further tells Damini that though she is his ex-wife, he will show no mercy in defeating her! Suryakant also arrives then and is shocked to learn that Kapil is Damini's former husband
