The 20-year-old Manzambi then turned from provider to finisher. In the 57th minute, Embolo used his physicality to shield a long ball and lay it off perfectly. Manzambi met it with a low, precise drive that squirmed underneath Crépeau and into the net. Two-nil. The youngster had a goal and an assist within eleven minutes of the second half. A stunning performance from a player who looks entirely at home on the international stage.

Promise David and Canada’s Fightback
Canada refused to go quietly. Two minutes after coming off the bench, substitute Promise David produced the moment of the match for the home support — latching onto a brilliant looping delivery from Nathan Saliba and smashing home a sublime volley. BC Place erupted. One goal back with fourteen minutes left. The siege was on.
Canada threw everything at Switzerland in the closing stages. Alistair Johnston and Derek Cornelius both went agonisingly close. In what would have been the dramatic equaliser, David met a late delivery with a well-directed header — but Kobel got down sharply to push it away. The final whistle came shortly after. Switzerland finished top of Group B — a composed, well-drilled team that has given very little away across their three matches. Kobel has been excellent in goal.
