Morocco 1–1 Netherlands (AET) — Morocco win 3–2 on penalties | The Atlas Lions knocked out the Dutch. History.
Norway 2–1 Ivory Coast | Haaland’s 60th-minute strike made the difference.
France 3–0 Sweden | Mbappé brace, Barcola goal. France were relentless.
Mexico 2–0 Ecuador | El Tri controlled from start to finish. Ecuador finished ten men.
England 2–1 DR Congo | England were 1–0 down for 74 minutes. Kane twice in the last 16. DR Congo deserved more.
Belgium 3–2 Senegal (AET) | Senegal led 2–0. Belgium equalised in 161 seconds. Tielemans converted a disputed extra-time penalty.
USA 2–0 Bosnia and Herzegovina | Balogun scored, got sent off. Tillman’s free-kick with ten men. Freese heroics.
Spain 3–0 Austria | Oyarzabal brace, Porro header, Cucurella the architect of everything.
Portugal 2–1 Croatia | Three Croatian goals disallowed. Ronaldo subbed off unhappy. Ramos 90+4th-minute header. Gvardiol’s 90+13′ equaliser ruled out by VAR.
Switzerland 2–0 Algeria | Embolo 10′, Ndoye 46′. Kobel made extraordinary saves. Efficient and through.
Egypt 1–1 Australia (AET) — Egypt win 4–2 on penalties | Beach’s extraordinary double save. Australia’s goalkeeper substituted in the 119th minute. Salah’s Panenka. Egypt’s first-ever knockout win.
Argentina 3–2 Cabo Verde (AET) | Messi’s record 20th World Cup goal. Cabo Verde equalised twice. Vozinha denied Messi one-on-one. Cabral’s extra-time curler. A deflected Romero header ended Cabo Verde’s dream.
Colombia 1–0 Ghana | Arias goal in the 14th minute. Ati Zigi made seven saves. Colombia through by the minimum.
Round of 16 — Results So Far
Morocco 3–0 Canada | Ounahi brace, Rahimi stoppage-time third. Canada’s David missed a free-kick at 75′. Morocco is through and dangerous.
France 1–0 Paraguay | Paraguay’s 5-4-1 kept France scoreless in the first half. Doué’s 69th-minute foul won the penalty. Mbappé slotted it. Gill’s double save in stoppage time — stunning, and not enough. France through, unconvincing but advancing.
