Vitthal and his labour union, who work at the Singhania mill, find out that Mr Singhania has sold the mill to Sahil Kapoor and the mill may not reopen. Seven months pregnant Kamla resigns from her school attendant job and takes the job of a domestic help at Sahil Kapoor, the mill owner’s house. On the first day of the job, Sahil’s wife Neetu goes into labour. While Vitthal and his union protest against Sahil, Kamla takes Neetu to the hospital for her delivery.
Vitthal brings Kamla home in an unconscious state. While Neetu gives birth to a baby girl in the hospital, Kamla delivers a premature baby girl in the house itself. Vitthal names his daughter Kalpana. Neetu faces complications during her delivery and fails to nurse her child. Hence, Sahil takes his infant child to Kamla’s house and request Kamla to feed the baby her milk. Kamla agrees and nurses both the babies.
Kamla visits Neetu and her daughter. Meanwhile, Vitthal and his union labourers meet Sahil to discuss issues regarding the mill. Neetu finds Kamla nursing her baby in the baby’s room and gets shocked. Initially, she insults Kamla. But, later, she brings Kamla back and requests her to nurse her baby regularly, in return for money. But Kamla refuses the money and agrees to do it for free. Vitthal gets angry on knowing that Kamla nursed Sahil’s child.
Neetu asks Kamla to stay back in the night so as to feed her child. But Kamla refuses as she has her own family. But before leaving, Kamla gives Neetu a feeding bottle full of her milk. Neetu feels grateful towards her. Vitthal starts a roadside food stall, but on the very first day, the police destroy his shop and Pakya gets hurt. In a hurry to return home, Kamla carries Neetu's daughter and brings her home.
Kamla, unknowingly, brings Neetu's daughter home and feeds her milk without realising it. When Vitthal finds out, he gets enraged with her and gets restless to meet his daughter. Neetu, on the other hand, doesn’t realise that her child has been exchanged. The next morning, Kamla returns Neetu her baby and hugs her baby. The Guruji conducts the naming ceremony for Neetu's baby and claims Kamla’s baby to be born with a princess’s fate.
Kamla suggests Neetu's daughter be named Pakhi. Kalpi gets a fever and Vitthal blames Neetu for it, whereas Neetu blames Kamla and her unhygienic home for the rashes on Pakhi’s skin. However, the doctor confirms it is because of the strange metal of Neetu’s bangles. Manda accuses Pakya of stealing money. Vitthal gets angry on Pakya, but Divya saves him. Later, Kamla pays the fine and re-establishes Vitthal’s food stall.
Sahil and Neetu attend Ganesh Chaturthi function at Kamla’s house with the hope to mingle with the workers for Sahil’s profit in business. As Pakya and Prem get into a fight, Sahil and Neetu exit from the function. Kamla suggests Pakya apologise to Prem, but Vitthal disagrees with Kamla. Later, Sahil gets to know that Singhania is dead and the police have arrested Vitthal. Kamla, on getting the news, rushes to the police station at once. Vitthal recites to Kamla the actual incident.
Kamla arranges for money but that doesn't suffice the lawyer’s fees. Hence, Sahil decides to help Kamla get Vitthal out of jail. But, the inspector declares Vitthal innocent of Singhania's murder. Later, Kamla attends Singhania’s funeral. Sahil consoles Raghav and stays adamant to take his custody. Neetu holds Kamla back and goes to a kitty party. When she returns, she sends a bottle of milk for Kalpi.
Vitthal starts selling bangles with Divya's help. Everyone gets impressed with Kamla as Pakhi stays calm with Kamla. However, Neetu gets jealous and irritated with Kamla. Vitthal goes into a loss as a car runs into his bangle shop. Later, Vitthal hears Kalpi say her first word, but Kamla misses it. However, Kamla witnesses Pakhi's first word.
Pakhi considers Kamla as her mother and calls Neetu by her name. Pakhi gets jealous of Kalpi when she calls Kamla her mother. Raghav Singhania is supposed to come and live with the Kapoors after seven years. Pakhi decides to surprise Kamla on her birthday and so do Kalpi and Pakya. Kamla manages both her daughters with love and care.
