Shaheed is a 1965 biographical movie starring Manoj Kumar, Marathe, Prem Chopra and Anant Purushottam. Bhagat Singh is the some of Sardar Kishen Singh. His uncle Ajit Singh is arrested for speaking against British and is never to be seen or heard from after he escapes from prison. Bhagat becomes a freedom fighter like his uncle. Along with his friends he avenges the death of a innocent protestors by killing Commissioner Saunders. He is later sentenced to death along with his friends and is executed in secret.

Bhagat and his colleagues face persecution and torture at Lahore prison after their arrest. In reaction, they go on a hunger strike.
