Boxing Day is an English movie that follows the story of a British man, Melvin (played by Aml Ameen), whose former life catches up with him when he travels back to London after two years for the book release to eventually introduce his fiancée, Lisa Dixon (played by Aja Naomi) to his chaotic British family. Boxing Day Movie Plot    

Boxing Day is a comedy and drama movie that begins with a British immigrant Melvin who resides in Los Angeles. He is inspired to return to London for the first time in nearly two years after publishing his new book. 

Melvin visits his lovely but troubled Caribbean-British family in London with his American fiancée. The arrival of Melvin's ex-lover and international sensation Georgia, who still harbours unresolved love for him and is tight with the parents he left there, complicates everything while he is there.

She besotted the celebrity and requests a selfie, which she uploads to Instagram, so Melvin's family gets to know he is in town. Georgia is the guest host when Melvin appears on a TV chat show to promote his book. Since his parents' divorce was announced on that tragic Boxing Day, when he vanished to LA, they hadn't spoken.

Lisa tries to introduce Georgia to her boyfriend Melvin when she sees Georgia. They accidentally and physically crash into each other upon seeing one another from a distance and attempting to avoid one another. Lisa scolds Melvin for not telling her that his ex is a popular singer while they are driving to his mother Shirley's house. The following day, Lisa plays cards with the family on her own. When he pursues Lisa after she sees them, she declares she is taking a job opportunity in New Zealand.

A fight regarding Melvin's departure from two years ago starts when Georgia departs unhappy. In the midst of the commotion, Shirley shows up with Richard to properly reintroduce him, but because of the confusion, she sends everyone away but Melvin. She reveals to him that Lisa is pregnant. Lisa says goodbye to Melvin at the hotel. He visits his father's restaurant, where he feels confident in his ability to be a father. So he makes an attempt to make a romantic gesture with cards, but it fails.

Eventually, in the movie, Richard and Shirley make their love official at Shirley's Christmas program. After seeing Lisa at the resort, Georgia and Boobsy lead Melvin to the Tower Bridge, where he renews his proposal to Lisa.
