Anthahpuram is a Telugu horror film and a remake of the Tamil film Aranmanai 3, the third installment in the Aranmanai film series. The film recounts the story of a young girl who is haunted by an unidentified spirit in her childhood, and the spirit returns again to haunt one of her family members when the girl grows up.

The plot revolves around young Jyothi who is sent to a boarding school by her father for complaining about a spirit haunting her. When an adult Jyothi returns home after some years, she re-encounters the spirit, which has now shifted its focus on her young relative, Shalu. Paranormal activities continue in the house, and Jyothi’s attempts to exorcise the house turns futile. Moreover, she learns that Eeshwari the ghost is none other than her dead mother. Why would a mother attack her own child? Will Jyothi succeed in freeing her house of spirits?
Raashi Khanna enacts the role of Jyothi, Arya plays Saravanan, while Andrea Jeremiah essays the part of Eeshwari the spirit. Sundar C. has essayed the role of Ravi and Yogi Babu appears as Abhishek in Anthahpuram.
This Telugu thriller film is directed by Sundar C, who also wrote the movie’s script. The film is co-produced by Khushbu, Sundar C, ACS Arunkumar, and AC Shanmugam. UK Senthil Kumar and Fenny Oliver are the cinematographer and editor, respectively. The film was dubbed into Telugu by Ganga Entertainments. C Sathya has scored the film’s soundtrack, with Saregama acquiring its audio rights. The film has five songs by legendary singers Hariharan, Shankar Mahadevan, and Sid Sriram.
Talks were on with Hansika Motwani for the second lead, but she backed out of the project citing scheduling issues. The role went to Andrea Jeremiah.
Shankar Mahadevan and Hariharan have played cameo roles in the movie.
