The landlady of Madhabpur has arranged a grand wedding ceremony for her daughter, Shukla. She takes Shukla to the local Goddess Vishalakshi Temple and finds that the temple is closed. Thereafter, they hear someone sing inside the closed temple. Shukla realises that it's her friend, Nayan, whom the villagers hate as they find her inauspicious. Later, Nayan's grandfather, the priest of the temple, opens the temple door and gets concerned after finding Nayan inside the temple.

Nayan leaves the temple after facing the villagers' wrath. Later, Nayan takes a dip in a pond and sees a 'banarasi', a special type of saree worn by Bengali brides. She realises that it's a vision where a bride will drown herself in the pond. Thereafter, she sets off to find the bride and save her. Elsewhere, the wife of a wealthy businessman arranges a welcoming party for her step-son, Driptobroto Basu. She hates Dripto, but has convinced Dripto's family that she loves him.

Nayan fails to check Shukla's 'banarasi' as Shukla's mother makes her leave. Elsewhere, Sanjukta, Dripto's step-mother, plots with her brother, Vicky, to stop Dripto from getting her husband's business and property. She wants to make her husband give her biological children, Jeet and Piku, the property before he dies of cancer. Protima, Dripto's aunt, knows that Sanjukta pretends to love Dripto. Later, Nayan learns from her friends about the people who are getting married.

Nayan fails to see the 'banarasi' of the brides who are getting married as she gets ousted by their family members. Later, Nayan revisits the Goddess Vishalakshi Temple and pleads with Goddess Vishalakhi to help her save the bride. She hurts her hand while ringing the bell of the temple. She sets off to find the bride again after smearing her blood on the idol. Elsewhere, Dripto returns home from Paris. Afterwards, Nayan stumbles upon her mother, who forcibly takes her home.

Dripto's father, Topobroto Basu, gets concerned after seeing that Dripto blindly trusts Sanjukta and is influenced by her. Elsewhere, Nayan's mother locks her in a room to stop her from invading marriage ceremonies. Nayan pleads with her sister, Kumu, to unlock the door. She agrees to do it when Nayan vows to fulfil the former's wish in the future. Dripto hates his biological mother, Kalpana, for dying and abandoning him. Kumu fails to unlock the door because of their mother.

Nayan's grandfather finds Nayan locked in a room and is asked by Nayan's mother not to set Nayan free. Elsewhere, Sanjukta gets shocked and worried when Dripto says that he won't return to Paris. Later, Nayan desperately wants to check Shukla's 'banarasi' and asks her grandfather to check it. Sanjukta is furious about Dripto's decision and fears that Topobroto will give him the property. Afterwards, Nayan's grandfather finds Shukla wearing the 'banarasi' Nayan described to him.

Shukla's mother finds Kumu in the house and ousts her after insulting her. Kumu vows to take revenge by sending Nayan to the marriage ceremony. Elsewhere, Sanjukta fails to convince Dripto to return to Paris. Later, Kumu sets Nayan free and reminds her about the vow she made. Nayan stumbles upon her friends and learns that outsiders are not allowed in Shukla's marriage. She learns that the pupeteers hired by Shukla's family won't come which gives her an idea to enter Shukla's house.

Protima realises that Sanjukta would harm Dripto if he stays in India permanently. Elsewhere, Nayan goes to her friend Bohurupi's house so that she can disguise herself to enter Shukla's house. Later, Topobroto officially hands over his business to Dripto in front of the guests at Dripto's party. Shukla and the others get shocked by Topobroto's actions. Afterwards, Nayan and her friends dress as puppets and manage to enter Shukla's house to perform.

Sanjukta tactfully announces in front of the guests that Jeet and Piku will assist Dripto in handling the business. Afterwards, Dripto rejects Sanjukta's proposal as he thinks that Jeet and Piku are too young to handle the business. Nayan recognises Shukla's 'banarasi' and immediately warns Shukla not to go near any water body as she will drown otherwise. Shukla's mother ousts Nayan immediately and threatens to expel Nayan and her family from the village if Shukla is harmed in any way.

Nayan's grandfather and her mother realise that Kumu has freed Nayan. Thereafter, they find that the villagers want to kill Nayan. Elsewhere, Nayan decides to hide in the pond where she saw the 'banarasi' to stop Shukla from drowning. Later, Shukla's husband tells Shukla that he has a girlfriend and that he doesn't consider Shukla as his wife. Afterwards, Vicky tricks Dripto into thinking that Sanjukta is sick because he rejected her proposal of letting Jeet and Piku join the business.

Nayan's mother finds Nayan in the pond and pleads with her to come out of it. Elsewhere, Dripto tells Topobroto about Sanjukta's illness which Topobroto finds suspicious. Dripto says that he won't take the responsibility of the business if Jeet and Piku are not included in it. Later, Nayan and her mother find Shukla coming towards the pond. They fail to stop her from jumping into the pond. Nayan immediately brings Shukla out of the pond and is blamed by the villagers for Shukla's condition.

Shukla wakes up, but her mother blames Nayan for the incident. She tells Nayan's mother to make Nayan leave the village or else she'll expel the former's entire family from the village. Later, Topobroto learns about how Vicky tricked Dripto by lying about Sanjukta's illness. Elsewhere, Shukla's mother asks Shukla to endure her husband's wrath. Afterwards, Sanjukta unknowingly tells Topobroto that she is not ill. When Shukla meets Nayan, she asks Shukla to fight for her husband's love.

Topobroto calls Dripto in Sanjukta's room and makes Sanjukta say that she is not ill. She says that she is happy with Dripto handling the business alone which makes Dripto relieved. Elsewhere, Shukla's mother finds Shukla with Nayan which infuriates her. She reminds Nayan and the others about leaving the village. Nayan's mother and grandfather decide to leave the village with Nayan, but Kumu refuses to leave. Sanjukta learns that she made a mistake by saying that she is not ill.

Kumu reminds Nayan about the vow she made about fulfilling the former's wish and says that she wishes for her to leave Madhabpur at night without informing anyone. Nayan accepts Kumu's terms and decides to leave. Elsewhere, before going to the office, Dripto takes Kalpana's blessings reluctantly. Later, Protima and Sanjukta get into an argument where Sanjukta says that she will prove that Dripto will always trust her.

Nayan gets depressed about leaving Madhabpur, but refrains from telling anyone about it. Elsewhere, Topobroto gives Dripto a tour of the office and tells him about his dreams for the latter. Vicky asks Sanjukta to trick Topobroto into thinking that she supports Dripto going to the office. He asks her to throw a party for Dripto and celebrate his first day at the office. Later, Topobroto meets his lawyer, Debidas, and asks him to make a will which will keep Dripto safe from Sanjukta.

Dripto and Topobroto return home and get surprised by the party organised by Sanjukta. Thereafter, Dripto announces that he has started a project named after Sanjukta in Madhabpur. Later, Sanjukta and the others learn that Topobroto met Debidas and fear that he made a will. At night, after Topobroto leaves his room, Piku and the others search it to find proof of a will. They find Debidas calling on Topobroto's phone. Elsewhere, Nayan gets prepared to leave Madhabpur.

Piku and the others pick up Debidas's call and learn that he wants Topobroto's signature. Thereafter, Topobroto returns to his room and finds Piku and the others. They manage to lie to Topobroto and leave the room. Later, Nayan stumbles upon Bohurupi while leaving the village. Bohurupi takes Nayan to the edge of the village and is depressed about her leaving Madhabpur. Afterwards, Sanjukta and the others fail to stop Topobroto from going to Debidas's house to sign the will.

Nayan finds a Vishalakhi Temple where a woman, who looks like Kalpana, asks her to wait for a person in the temple. The next morning, Sanjukta and the others plot to kill Dripto so that Sanjukta inherits the property. Dripto tells Sanjukta that he'll go to Madhabpur. Later, Vicky decides to mess with Dripto's car so that Dripto dies in an accident. Elsewhere, Shukla's mother visits Nayan's house to check whether Nayan has left. Nayan learns that the woman she met doesn't live in the village.

Trinayani's mother and the others find that Nayan has left the village. Elsewhere, Vicky successfully sabotages Dripto's car. Later, Trinayani's mother rebukes Kumu for making Nayan leave. Trinayani's mother and grandfather set off to look for Nayan. The villagers give Nayan the supplies when she says that she'll re-open the temple and do the puja. Afterwards, Gurudeb, a saint, informs Dripto's grandmother that he will visit her house as he has foreseen a danger for Dripto.

Dripto's grandmother bars Dripto from leaving the house and asks him to wait for Gurudeb. Elsewhere, Trinayani's mother and grandfather stumble upon Bohurupi, who takes them to the place where he left Nayan. Nayan starts the puja at the Vishalakhi Temple. After hearing that Dripto won't leave the house, Sanjukta accidentally cuts her fingers. Dripto decides to take Sanjukta to the doctor by driving the car Vicky sabotaged. Trinayani's mother and grandmother hear Nayan singing.

Nayan prays before Goddess Vishalakshi. Elsewhere, Sanjukta refuses to go to Madhabpur with Dripto, instead, she asks Dripto to go alone. Topobroto gets suspicious of Sanjukta. Nayan asks her mother to return to Madhabpur for Kumu's sake. Dripto decides to go to Madhabpur alone. Afterwards, Nayan foresees a car accident on the highway and tells about it to her grandfather. Vicky tells Sanjukta that he has damaged the wheel and brake of Dripto's car. Dripto ignores the malfunctioning of his car.

Gurudeb tells Dripto's family that Dripto's life is in danger after he learns that he has gone to Madhabpur alone. Elsewhere, Nayan prays to Goddess Visalakshi to avoid the accident to happen. As it starts raining, Nayan gets worried as the accident, she saw took place while raining. Topobroto being worried about Dripto falls sick. A doctor advises Topobroto to not get anxious. Dripto's car starts malfunctioning. Soon after, Nayan finds out the highway and also spots out Dripto's car.

Nayan tries to stop Dripto's car but Dripto fails to do so and rams into a tree. Elsewhere, Nayan's grandfather continues praying to Goddess Visalakshi. Nayan decides to save an unconscious Dripto's life and takes him in a hand cart. Afterwards, Topobroto goes out of the house in search of Dripto despite Sanjukta's restriction. Vicky pacifies a worried Sanjukta, telling her that Dripto is already dead. Later, on Nayan's plea, the doctor checks Dripto's pulse in a hospital.

The doctor admits Dripto in the hospital. Nayan tells the receptionist that she doesn't know Dripto and also fails to pay for Dripto's treatment as she has no money. From Dripto's belongings, the doctor finds out Dripto's identity. The doctor informs Topobroto about Dripto's accident. As Topobroto has no money, he returns home and lies to his family members that Dripto is fine, which disappoints Vicky, Sanjukta, and her sons. Nayan gets happy when Dripto gratifies her for saving his life.

A happy Nayan walks out of the hospital. Elsewhere, Vicky assures Sanjukta that Dripto is already dead. An inspector tells Topobroto that Dripto's car was damaged despite being a new car. Topobroto gets suspicious of Sanjukta. A group of women insist Nayan play 'Dol', a festival of colours, with them. Dripto tells Topobroto about the accident and also tells him that a girl saved his life. As Nayan gets unrecognisable after playing 'Dol', she decides to go to Madhabpur to meet her mother.
