Chakra, a thriller movie of the early 80s, is about a family of slum dwellers, in which Amma, the female lead of the movie, faces sexual molestation, and her husband kills the accused and chooses the path of crime. The story proceeded further along that path as Amma and her son struggled to survive.

Chakra Plot
This story is about Amma, played by Smita Patil, who was living with her son and husband in Bijapur. A man tries to rape Amma, to the response of which her husband kills the molester and has to go behind bars for the same. Upon the incident, she relocates with her son to a new slum near Dharavi, where her son grows up to be a cobbler.
Amma then comes into a sexual relationship with Looka, who is an extortionist but also has a relationship with Anna, a trucker. Everything was going well in their lives until the Police came looking for Looka, and everything changed. Hence, the story proceeds.
