Passport is a suspense movie that features leading stars of yesteryear such as Madhubala and Pradeep Kumar. The story is about an attempt to bust a diamond trafficking ring, and the love affair between the protagonist and the daughter of a jeweller suspected to be involved in the trafficking. Plot of Passport: Love amidst conniving and murder
The Bombay City Police suspect that Santa Cruz Airport is being used by diamond smugglers. They notice a nervous-looking man during the luggage and the passenger checking routine, who flees before he is stopped for questioning. A chase ensues between the man and the police, and the man gets killed while trying to escape. The police recover a suitcase containing diamonds and jewellery from the man’s car, which are traced to a jeweller named Bhagwandas.
But the jeweller distances himself from the valuables, and in the course of events, his manager commits suicide. Amid all this chaos, Shekhar, the young man who is assisting the police in the investigation, finds himself in love with the jeweller’s daughter. The onus now rests on Shekhar and the police to pin Bhagwandas and Shamsher Singh, his partner in crime, to the smuggling racket and deaths.
