Koyla: A Piece of Diamond
Koyla is a Hindi action thriller movie with Shah Rukh Khan and Madhuri Dixit leading the drama. It was praised for its background and action sequences. According to many critics, the performances of Amrish Puri and Shah Rukh Khan were quite prominent.
Most of the screen time in the thriller movie is shared by Shankar (Shah Rukh Khan) and Raja (Amrish Puri). Shankar is a poor and dumb guy who is raised by Raja. Raja is the villain of the movie who is all powerful and rich. He is feared in the area and kills anyone who defies his words. Raja comes across Gauri (Madhuri Dixit) and decides to marry her. The marriage takes place with Gauri believing Shankar to be his groom. After knowing the truth, Gauri decides to commit suicide but Shankar saves her.

Koyla Movie Plot
Shankar is a mute yet handsome young man who is raised by the powerful and feared Raja Sahab. Raja and his brother Brijwa treat Shankar as a slave. Both of them have ruthless and cruel characters. Raja sees Gauri, a young and beautiful lady, and decides to marry her. Gauri asks for the groom’s photo and in return, the villain sends a photo of Shankar. She immediately agrees.
Realising she has been cheated, Gauri tries committing suicide but Shankar saves her. He understands her misery and they flee away. Infuriated by their escape, Raja and his men set off on a hunt for the duo. Brijwa and others brutally beat Shankar and Raja slits his throat taking Gauri back. Will Shankar take his revenge?
