
Haathkadi is a movie about Suraj Chauhan, an ACP, who wants to avenge his brother's murder at the hands of corrupt officials. He joins up with Rajnikant, his jailhouse lookalike, to expose the culprits and bring them to justice. The film follows their adventure as they work together to achieve Suraj's aim of seeking revenge for his brother's death. The action movie is filled with action, suspense, and humour.

The Hindi movie revolves around Suraj Chauhan, a dedicated officer who was frustrated by the presence of corrupt individuals such as Home Minister Bhavani Shankar and the DIG. Bhavani Shankar is fascinated with a girl and rapes her one day at an adoption centre ceremony. Suraj's crime reporter brother, Arun, records the crime. Arun and the Mayor travel to the police station to bring Bhavani Shankar to justice, but they are brutally murdered by hired goon Chakku Pande. Suraj decides to avenge his brother's death and Chakku Pande, but Bhavani Shankar plans to kill him. Suraj, with the help of the police, rescues Chakku Pande and plots to expose Bhavani Shankar in public. However, Chakku Pande blames Suraj, which leads to his detention. In jail, Suraj comes across Rajnikant, his lookalike, a man with high values. Realising their advantage, Rajnikant suggests they can exchange places to assist Suraj in escaping.

The film was directed by T. Rama Rao and produced by A. V. Subbarao. The cinematography was done by Prasadbabu and edited by Gowtham Raju.
