It Happened In Calcutta Teaser: Introducing Naghma Rizwan In This Yesteryear’s Love Saga
It Happened in Calcutta, a yesteryear ZEE5 Originals series is premiering on 29 February 2020. The story is a turbulent love saga between Kusum and Ronobir and is produced by Ekta Kapoor. While the famous television star Karan Kundrra plays the male lead in this love story, debutant Naghma Rizwan has been chosen as the face of the series. Harman Singha also stars in the series as Ratan Bagchi. The teaser released recently in January. Here’s what it has in store:

Naghma Rizwan looks hot, seductive and absolutely ravishing in her bold avatar, wearing a white saree with a black blouse. The teaser video captures her expression from naughty to nice and everything spice that she is! She looks sensual but also has an innocence to her charm. She plays the character of a petite woman Kusum, who aspires to become a doctor someday and successfully gets admission to Calcutta Medical College. In search for the perfect face to depict the character of Kusum, Ekta Kapoor auditioned more than 300 girls and after a wait of 2.5 years, the show is going to launch soon on ZEE5 Originals. The shots of her laughter, the shine in her eyes and grace in her body justifies the quest!
Soon, she falls in love with a flamboyant, handsome yet arrogant Ronobir Chatterjee, essayed by Karan Kundrra. Ronobir is a class topper and loves to seek attention from beautiful ladies. The womanizer breaks Kusum’s heart and she is left all alone. She decides to break all the chains and rise above all by proving her worth. The web series also highlights some major incidents like the cholera outbreak and world war which disturbed the peace and serenity of the nation.
Directed by Ken Ghosh, and Balaji Telefilms Ltd. (Ekta Kapoor), it also stars Harman Singha as Ratan Bagchi in the love saga. The series is set in the ‘City of Joy – Calcutta’ and takes you back to the old-school love and drama of the 60s and 70s era.
