The International Women’s Day is a widely celebrated occasion because it truly shows the world the worth of women in their lives. Every woman does pathbreaking in her life, even if it makes only a small difference to our everyday lives. That’s why, as we inch closer to this day, we thought of giving a shoutout to all the amazing new-age actors in Tollywood who have given us interesting and unmissable characters. Check them out.

We start off our list with the one girl who has been making records break. Sometimes it’s her Instagram picture, and other times it’s her amazing acting skills that keep us gushing. Here’s Riya from the action-film Bruce Lee: The Fighter, also starring Ram Charan. In the film, she plays the role of a young and bubbly girl, who lives life with no filter but knows holds her moral and values extremely high. She can tickle your funny bones and then break them too, in just a matter of a few seconds.

Raashi Khanna as Bhaanumati in Hyper

Raashi Khanna is yet another youngster who has broken the mould of ‘perfect woman’ with her choice of films. From serious dramas to comedy and silly characters, she has played them all. In Hyper, also starring Ram Pothineni, Raashi plays the role of Bhaanumathi. On the surface, it might seem like she is the one you can easily play with. But when she starts operating her own remote control, this lady turns badass. While we only may be thinking of making a move or taking the leap, Bhanumathi plunges right into it.

Next up, we have the new sensation, Taapsee Pannu. Having established her worth in the South Indian film industries, Taapsee has now gone to the national scale to prove her worth. With her dedication and choice of films, we’re sure, it isn’t too long until she makes a name for herself on the global map. Here, we take her hit horror-comedy, Anando Brahma. Let Taapsee tell you and show you well that ghosts do not come in the same old prototypes anymore. Her character, as a ghost, had emotions and desires just like any other human being.

It is almost impossible to talk about commendable leading ladies without talking about Samantha Akkineni. She has given us many interesting roles, right from Ye Maya Chesave‘s Jessie to Super Deluxe’s Vembu. Here, we talk about her character as Anasuya Ramalingam in A Aaa, also starring Nithin. She brings a certain naivety to her characters while also managing to be coy. Gone are the days when leading ladies were damsels in distress. She can save the day and make you laugh while checking off all the boxes of a commercial film heroine.

She can take the lead as well as she can handle rejection, she stands up for herself and knocks down people who try to mess with her.

Lastly, we need to talk about Ramya Krishnan. She might not be the most-quintessential new-age actor, but it is only recently that her true skills have been put to us. Her role as Sailaja Reddy in the rom-com Sailaja Reddy Alludu, starring Naga Chaitanya and Anu Emmanuel, was the one to stand out amongst all. Let’s take a bow to the mothers who go above and beyond for their children, yet are only demeaned by society.
