Churails is a story of four women from different walks of life who come together and start their own detective agency. This ZEE5 Original series is a modern feminist story showing women in burqas in powerful roles. This series, starring popular actors like Meher Bano Nimra Bucha, Yasra Rizvi, and Sarwat Gilani Mirza, is an action-packed thriller that brings in a new style of storytelling.

1. Kaali (Kaali)

Kaali enters the dark world of drugs and crime in Kolkata because of her son who needs money for his medical treatment. She refuses to be taken advantage of by the criminals. Despite being the underdog, she manages to stay one step ahead of the best cops and the most dangerous drug lords.

2. Maryam (Mee Raqsam)

Mee Raqsam is the story of Maryam, a young muslim girl who wants to learn Bharatnatyam. She is good at it too but she faces opposition from the community that don’t want to see a Muslim learning a Hindu traditional dance. She shows incredible bravery to win the dance competition despite every effort to stop her.

3. Moushmi Ghosh (Mission Over Mars)

Mona Singh plays the role of Moushmi Ghosh in Mission Over Mars, based on the true story of India’s Mars Mission. She learns to work along her ex-husband which can be tricky. Even though people keep reminding her of her failures she refuses to let them hold her back, instead learning from her mistakes and moving on.

4. Tarini (Fittrat)

Tarini from Fittrat is a self-professed and unapologetic gold-digger. She likes expensive things and is ready to go out with rich men and get what she wants. However, when she is accused to wooing her best friend’s fiancé, she proves her innocence and even exposes the uncomfortable truths about the man her best friend was unwittingly going to marry.

5. Noyonika (Badnaam Galli)

Patralekha plays the role of a surrogate mother in Badnaam Gali. People in her society keep passing judgments about the way she makes her money. However, she is more than happy to bear babies for couples who are unable to have children. She never apologises for her life and ignores all the side glances and snide remarks that come her way.

6. Karenjit Kaur (Karenjit Kaur: The Untold Story Of Sunny Leone)

If there ever was a woman who divided opinions in India and couldn’t care less about it, it was Sunny Leone. In Karenjit Kaur, Sunny Leone reveals her life story with the good and the bad. This series will leave you with a sense of appreciation for the kind of tough choices and tricky situations that she has to face in her life.

7. Officer Rene (REJCTX 2)

Esha Gupta plays the role of Officer Rene in the the second season of REJCTX. She is the only female officer in the precinct and she is an immigrant which makes people take her lightly. However, she keeps fighting to prove her mettle as a police officer.
