Watch: Kangana Ranaut’s Journey From Nobody To Bollywood Queen
Actor had left her house with Rs 1,500 in her pocket.
Kangana Ranaut had made her debut in Bollywood back in 2006 through the movie Gangster. However, very few know that she had left her parents’ house with only Rs 1,500 in her pocket. Her initial years in the industry were marked with difficulties as she was conscious of her poor command over English. “People in the industry treated me like I didn’t deserve to be spoken to and I was some unwanted object. I couldn’t speak English fluently and people made fun of me for that. So dealing with rejection became a part of life,” she had later said.
Her breakthrough performance came in 2008 with the movie Fashion, which earned her the first National Film Award of her career. She was lauded with the same accolade in 2014 when she played the memorable role of Rani Mehra in Vikas Bahl’s Queen. In the following year, Tanu Weds Manu Returns earned her the third National Film Award of her career.
