The Coronavirus pandemic has caused thousands of death all across the world. In India, the rituals that are followed after one’s death are considered to be very crucial. However, amid this pandemic, many cases are coming into the limelight where dead bodies of COVID-19 patients are not treated properly. Recently, videos of such instances went viral. In a major violation of the Centre’s COVID-19 norms, videos showing health workers dumping dead bodies of eight COVID-19 victims in a large pit in Karnataka has come to light, triggering public outrage. This incident took place on the outskirts of the Bellary district of Karnataka.

The dead bodies of patients were dragged and dumped carelessly into a huge pit which was dug on the outskirts of Bellary. As the videos went viral on social media, they immediately triggered outrage in the district. The BJP government in Karnataka faced a lot of criticism from the people.
