Uttarakhand: Congress MLA Harish Dhami Nearly Drowns In A Flooded River
The locals somehow managed to save the MLA and take him to a safe location after he slipped and fell into a flooded river.
The monsoon season in India has already created a havoc in several states. Thousands of people have been affected due to floods, waterlogging and landslides. Recently, due to heavy rains in many districts of Uttarakhand, rivers and drains were severely flooded. Congress MLA Harish Dhami also got caught in a similar incident in Pithoragarh. During his return visit from Lumti and Morika, the water level suddenly rose in a small river and he was hit by it. He slipped and fell among the rocks and was carried away for a little distance. Fortunately, the locals somehow managed to save the MLA and take him to a safe location.
Sources close to the MLA state that Dhami was inspecting the villages that were affected by the continuous downpour. The heavy rains have led to a disturbance in transportation services and reports also state that many villages are facing power failures and loss of connectivity.
