Donald Trump announced that Israel and UAE will move towards complete normalization with each other following new pact

American President Donald Trump announced a historic peace deal between Israel and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) yesterday. He declared that the two countries have agreed to move towards full normalization of their relationship with each other. He added that he is also working towards bringing harmony between other middle-eastern countries.

The leaders of the three nations had a lengthy phone call on Thursday in which Trump reportedly brokered the peace treaty between Israel Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu  and UAE Crown Prince Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

The agreement, which will be called the Abraham Accord, has been termed as a breakthrough by the US president. In the joint statement by the three nations, the countries have agreed to exchange ambassadors and embassies. The pact will also give greater access to Muslims to Al Aqsa mosque in Jerusalem, allowing them to fly to Tel Aviv in Israel from Abu Dhabi. Further, UAE and Israel will expand and accelerate cooperation towards each other in a bid to discover a treatment and develop a vaccine for the novel coronavirus.

With Trump seeking re-election in the November polls in the US, this move may come as an advantage of adding credibility to his foreign policy.

The execution of this treaty will still be a long process on ground , with the two countries mutually working on various areas of cooperation including businesses, cultural matters, tourism, aviation and others.
