The phased re-opening of activities has been extended after the Union Ministry of Home Affairs issued new guidelines for Unlock 2.0 from 1 to 31 July.

The Union Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), on Monday (June 29) issued new guidelines for Unlock 2.0, which will come into force from July 1, extending the phased re-opening of activities, including expanding domestic flights and passenger trains in a calibrated manner. The MHA release said that schools, colleges and coaching institutions will remain closed till July 31 and the decision has been taken after extensive consultation with the states. It is said that training institutions of the Central and State governments will be allowed to function with effect from July 15 and Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) in this regard will be issued by Department of Personnel and Training.

Lockdown shall continue to remain in force in the containment zones till July 31 and only essential services will be allowed. Night curfew timings have been further relaxed and it shall be in force from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. Shops, depending upon their area, can have more than five persons at a time. However, they have to maintain physical and social distancing. Watch the video for further guidelines.
