Trump Calls For Death Penalty For Shooter Of Los Angeles Police Officers
One male and one female LA cop suffered multiple gunshots by an unidentified man yesterday
Two Los Angeles police officers are in a critical condition after they were shot by an unidentified person yesterday. Video footage shows a person in a dark coloured shirt approaching the officers’ car and opening fire, before escaping from the location. The LA Sheriff officers, one male and one female suffered multiple gunshots. The department’s spokesperson called the act cowardly.
United States President Donald Trump also tweeted the video and captioned it as ‘animals that must be hit hard’. In a separate tweet, he called for death penalty for the perpetrator, who remains at large.
Meanwhile, there were anti-police protests outside the hospital where the injured officers were taken. The protesters reportedly blocked the entry and exit points of the emergency room and even chanted ‘death to the police’ slogans. The LA County Sheriff urged the demonstrators who yelled that they hope for the wounded police personnel to die, to not block the emergency passages as it puts people’s lives at stake.
