State Of Siege: 26/11 released last week on ZEE5 and has opened to rave reviews by audiences and critics alike. The eight episode series explores the NSG operation ‘Black Tornado’ to defeat the terrorists in the 2008 terror attacks on Mumbai. The series is a true-to-life account of the attacks. The makers have gone to great lengths to make it look authentic, even bringing on Lt. Col. Sandeep Sen, the second-in-command during Operation Black Tornado, as a consultant.

In this exclusive behind-the-scenes footage, Arjun Bijlani explains how the citizens found out later that not only Taj but CST and other places were also under attack. We see how the unit recreated Cama Hospital where people hid from the terrorists while the police tried to stop them. Some scenes in the State Of Seige: 26/11 were shot in the actual IL-76 plane used by the NSG to land in Mumbai during the 26/11 attacks.

The behind-the-scenes look shows how they shot inside the plane and outside of it. While that was a big part of making the series real, the contribution of Lt. Col. Sundeep Sen was clearly important. He showed the actors the right way to hold the guns and even told them how to march as Commandos. He also showed the actors a demonstration of how the attacks happened that night with real commandos.

The footage also gives an inside look at how the climax scenes were shot. The final, all-important scenes of the sieges ending in Chabad House and the Taj Hotel will give you goosebumps even if you have knowledge of how it all happened. Vivek Dahiya says that State Of Siege: 26/11 is a story that everyone should watch.
