At least 20 army personnel, including a Colonel, have been killed in this violent face-off. Many of our Indian troops succumbed to their injuries since they were in the line of duty in a high altitude terrain and exposed to sub-zero temperatures. According to a statement released by the Indian Army, the clash took place during the de-escalation process underway in the Galwan Valley which resulted in casualties on both sides.
