Uttar Pradesh has become a crime centre of the country. Every week the state records murder cases, rapes and other unlawful acts. Recently, a citizen of the state – Brajesh Pal was allegedly abducted from Bhognipur and his body was later found in Devrahat area of Kanpur’s Kanakheda village. A recent spate of kidnappings in UP has brought into limelight the goonda raj in the state.  Regarding the increasing rate of crime, reporters spoke with Prashant Kumar, ADG (Additional Director General), law and order.

Kumar said that it is very wrongful to criticise the law and order of UP as the state had not recorded any type of communal riots and strikes since last three years, unlike other states. He further added that the police force has managed to curb the crime rate and have taken necessary actions against the criminals. He concluded by saying that no matter who the person is, he is no bigger than the law of the nation.
