Laxmi, better known as Vanaja from the much-celebrated telly series on Zee Tamil, Sembaruthi, is one of the popular actresses of the small screen industry. While she is ruling the hearts of the audience through her talent (acting prowess), she also regularly entertains them on social media by posting pictures and videos from the sets of Sembaruthi.

Ever since the lockdown has been imposed, the actress has been sharing interesting videos on social media. Owing to the outbreak of the Coronavirus pandemic, the shooting of Sembaruthi has been stalled. So, the actors are now confined to their respective homes due to the nationwide lockdown. And Laxmi likes to spend her time at home productively.

The actress, who is quite active on social media, has been sharing cooking videos and revealing her secret recipes of all South Indian dishes. The actress also shares beauty tips on her Instagram page. Recently, Laxmi shared the recipe of Meen Kulambu (fish curry) and we would like to share it with you. Take lessons and try this recipe of Meen Kulambu from Laxmi’s kitchen.

As we can see in the video, Laxmi first marinates fish and keeps it aside to fry it later. Are you wondering why is Laxmi frying the fish? Well, the idea is that the fish shouldn’t break when it’s added in the Kulambu. Later, Laxmi makes a paste of garlic, onion and jeera.

Now, you can heat a frying pan with oil and add the items (onion, two green chillies, curry leaves) to temper. Once the small onions become brown, you can now add the tomatoes and fry it till it turns mushy and soft. Once tomatoes become soft, add the onion-garlic paste.

After some time, you can add tamarind water and add the regular masalas you use to make Kulambu (turmeric, red chilli powder and salt as per your judgement). Then let it boil. In the meanwhile, you can lightly fry the marinated fish and then add them in the Kulambu. Before you add fish, you can add pieces of raw mangoes if you like. Now let it boil for 5 minutes and your Meen Kulanbu is ready to serve hot!

Talking about the show, Sembaruthi is one of the most-watched daily soaps of Zee Tamil. The show is popular for its lead couple Karthik Raj and Shabana Shajahan, who play the characters of Adithya and Parvathy respectively. Apart from that Priya Raman’s character as Akhilandeshwari and the twists and turns in the story makes the show even more interesting.
