SATURDAY SPECIAL: Take Make-up Inspo From Anupama Parameswaran This Festive Season
The festive season is here. From wardrobes to make-up boxes, everything needs upgrading. Make-up looks have to be chosen, outfits need to be decided – this is the time when even the girl-next-door wants to look like a diva, and rightly so. So why don’t you let Vunnadhi Okate Zindagi star Anupama Parameswaran show you the way? Here is an easy look of hers you can try out yourself at home with the help of tips from celeb make-up artist Clint Fernandes. Read on for details.
Use a moisturiser to begin with and apply it all over. Follow this with an eye cream for the area around the eyes. Gently massage from the inner corner of the eyes to outwards. Finally, use a good matte primer to hold in all the moisture and help with a good make-up base.
Dot the face with a light foundation and use either a beauty blender or a foundation brush and blend out. For under-eye marks or pigmentation, use a concealer to camouflage all the flaws. Follow with a contour cream under the cheek bones and the jaw line. Set the base with a translucent setting powder using a powder brush. Finish with a setting spray and let dry.
Use a natural-toned eyeshadow in matte and apply the colour from the lid until the socket or crease line and blend outwards. Use a darker brown eyeshadow just at the crease line and blend with a socket brush. This creates definition around the eye. Use a bit of the same colour at the bottom lid and also close to the lash line. If you are a beginner, use an eyeliner cake or pencil liner. However, if you are quite the pro, get a gel liner. Start from the inner corner of the eye and move outwards to create a wing. Repeat till it’s perfect. Finish with mascara.
Moisten the lips with lip balm at least five minutes before applying the lip colour. Line the lips with a natural-coloured shade and fill in with a light flesh or light peach shade. Use a matte texture to create a very natural look.
Cheeks and face:
On the apples of the cheeks, apply an apricot blush and blend outwards. Use a bronzer for further contouring the face. And finally, use a highlighter just at the apples of the cheeks. Finish with the setting spray again and let the entire look set in place.
