Sarva Dharma Puja Conducted At Rafale Induction Ceremony

The ‘Sarva Dharma Puja’ was attended by French Defence Minister Florence Parly and Indian Defence Minister Rajnath Singh among others.

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and Minister of the Armed Forces of France Florence Parly witnessed the traditional ‘Sarva Dharma Puja’ at the Rafale induction ceremony, at Ambala airbase on Thursday (September 10). The ‘Sarva Dharma Puja’ involved recitation of hymns, aayats and mantras by priests of various religions. This puja was followed by air display of Rafale fighter aircraft flanked by SU-30 and Jaguar aircraft in an arrow formation. The first five Rafale aircrafts which arrived on July 27 at Ambala Air Force Station have been formally inducted to IAF’s 17 Squadron ‘Golden Arrows.’

Chief of Defence Staff General Bipin Rawat, Chief of the Air Staff Air Chief Marshal RKS Bhadauria, among other senior officers of the Ministry of Defence and Armed Forces, were also present to mark a very important milestone in the history of the Indian Air Force (IAF). It was followed by Air Display of Rafale and Tejas aircrafts as well as by ‘Sarang Aerobatic Team.’ Afterwards, a traditional water cannon salute was given to the Rafale aircraft to 17 Squadron.
