Richa Chadha: Bollywood Is Our Livelihood, Fighting Will Only Lead To Industry’s Downfall
Actress Richa Chadha speaks about the importance of being more kind and creating a positive work culture within the film industry
In an exclusive interview with India Today Television, actress Richa Chadha spoke in detail about the ongoing insider vs outsider debate, which has taken center stage since the tragic demise of actor Sushant Singh Rajput.
The actress had written an explosive blog recently, highlighting the hypocrisy of the Indian film industry. Speaking on the controversial nepotism debate, Richa said blaming star kids is not an option, as there are many failed star kids, as there are successful outsiders. She said she attributes her own success to outsiders.
The actress also called out the media and news channels for sensationalizing and spending a disproportionate amount of time on irrelevant news amidst other raging national issues. In the aftermath of Sushant’s death, she spoke about the media and public not respecting the family’s space in grieving his loss.
Speaking about her blog, Richa said that ‘tone-deaf’ people shared her write-up without realizing it was about them.
She feels name calling and encouraging battles will only lead to the industry’s downfall, a source of livelihood for many. Richa said people in the industry need to be kinder and should create a positive work culture for the actors and the industry at large.
