Matter of national pride

1/5

For the longest time, India as a country has been talking about peace and advocating it too. But in 2016,  when the enemies came  too close, it wasn’t time to sit back and talk. Instead, it was time to stand up and show the world what we were capable of. In a historic move, after a militant attack in Uri in 2016, the Indian army gave a crisp answer with a surgical strike on the Line Of Control on Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir. Three years later, we saw a dramatised narration of these events in Vicky Kaushal-starrer URI: The Surgical Strike.

Commerical and critical hit

2/5

The film, which released earlier this year, impressed critics and cinegoers alike. It features Vicky Kaushal, Paresh Rawal, Yami Gautam, Kriti Kulhari, Mohit Rania and more. Under Aditya Dhar’s direction, not only did the action drama do wonders but it also won a National Film Award this year.

The dialogues and their impact

3/5

One may argue that when a film is dubbed in another language, it loses the impact and authenticity. But hey, the movie is made for all Indians and language is no barrier when it comes to patriotism and national pride. In Telugu, when we hear the dialogue, “Idi nava Bharatam… Ee Bharatam illalloki tarabadtunti… champutundi kuda…“, you cannot help but swell with pride.

A story we relate to

4/5

Bollywood filmmaker JP Dutta’s iconic film Border made every Indian feel one with each other. Years later, watch URI: The Surgical Strike has the same impact. You do not have to be an army man or a soldier to feel their pain, anger or agony. Every common man understands and respects a soldier more than anything else. Don’t you agree?

A reason to celebrate

5/5

We inch towards the third year since the historical surgical strike. Make this day of celebration better as you watch URI: The Surgical Strike on ZEE5, in Telugu. This is the Nava Bharatam… we cannot go low. So… tell us – How’s the josh?

For another dose of patriotism, watch Venkatesh and Kamal Haasan starrer Eenadu on ZEE5.
