Relief To Passengers: Indian Railways To Start Counter Ticket Booking From Today
Railway ministry urges zonal GMs to reopen ticket counters in railways stations to ease the process of booking tickets. IRCTC booking now available.
After their announcement to start trains from 1st June 2020, the government has made another move for the travellers. The Railway ministry has issued orders for all the zonal GMs to open the ticket counters to help passengers buy tickets from today. Writing a letter to all the Zonal General Managers, the ministry urged them to open the ticket counters in the railway stations as it would help all the travellers to not face any issues while travelling. This move is made in consideration of the increasing number of people waiting to return to their home.
They have also strictly instructed them to follow all social distancing procedures at the counters, keeping the safety and well-being of employees and passengers in mind. The government has also announced that passengers can purchase tickets through the common service centre, IRCTC website or IRCTC agents now as well.
