The story of Dr Bhim Rao Ambedkar, the father of the constitution and the giver of fundamental rights, is currently being aired on &Tv. Ek Mahanayak – Dr B.R. Ambedkar revolves around the story of Dr Ambedkar right from birth till their demise. The show is fairly new and until now, Bhim is a young boy staying with his sisters and parents Ramji and Bhimabai. But his tender age does not stop Bhim from standing up against elders who are wrong. He faces discrimination due to his caste from a very young age. But that only makes his resolve to eradicate casteism and other social evils stronger. But apart from being a social rebel and a seeker of rights, Bhim loves his family and would do anything for them. Bhim is always protective of his sisters and on Raksha Bandhan, Bhim proves to be an ideal brother in these ways!

Bhim has been a strong supporter of women’s rights as he saw his elder sisters Manjula and Tulsa suffer at the hands of society. His sisters were denied rights to study. But Bhim convinced his father Ramji and they fought against the stringent laws of society to get education rights for Bhim’s sisters. In another event, Bhim’s sisters were being teased by the men in the village. Bhim protected them by voicing his opinions against the men’s leering acts. The men were ashamed and stopped their antics immediately. Bhim made sure his sisters were safely home before he went away.

Bhim is also helping his sister in convincing his parents to not get her married at an early age. Manjula’s marriage ceremony with Bhaskar is all set to happen in a few days but Bhim is strictly against it as his sister is not happy. Bhim has even left the house in an act of rebellion. Bhim thinks of Ganga as his own sister. The girl was young and widowed when the villagers started torturing her to throw her out of the village. But Bhim asked his parents to give her food and shelter. Bhim also convinced them to get Ganga remarried!
