Rajasthan Political Crisis: Sachin Pilot Clears The Air, Says He Is Not Joining BJP
The former Congress State President’s political future still hangs in the balance.
As the Rajasthan political crisis worsens, Sachin Pilot has said that he will not be joining the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). The former Deputy Chief Minister of Rajasthan was removed from his post as President of the Rajasthan Pradesh Congress Committee on Tuesday and his political future now hangs in the balance. “I am not joining BJP. Those saying that are just trying to lower me in the eyes of the Gandhi family,” said Pilot today. He also denied having colluded with the BJP to bring the state government down.
On Tuesday after he was removed from the Congress party, the current Chief Minister of Rajasthan, Ashok Gehlot also dropped him from his cabinet, along with Food and Civil Supplies Minister, Ramesh Meena and Tourism Minister, Vishvendra Singh. State Education Minister, Govind Singh Dotasra was named the new Congress chief in Rajasthan. Congress also sacked Mukesh Bhakar and Rakesh Pareek as Presidents of frontal organisations Youth Congress and Sewa Dal, respectively.
