Rajasthan Political Crisis: Congress Suspends Two MLAs From Sachin Pilot Camp
Congress spokesperson Randeep Singh Surjewala read out audiotapes discussing toppling of the Rajasthan state government.
Congress spokesperson Randeep Singh Surjewala announced that the party has suspended MLA Bhanwar Lal Sharma whose audiotapes were doing the rounds on social media. He added that Vishvendra Singh was also suspended. Surjewala stepped up to address the media on Friday (July 17) instead of Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, and read out transcripts of the purported audiotape discussing toppling of the state government. Audio clips of alleged conversations between Bhanwar Lal Sharma, an MLA of the Sachin Pilot camp, with Shekhawat have gone viral.
“An FIR should be registered against Bhanwar Lal Sharma and apart from that the party has decided to suspend Bhanwar Lal Sharma and Vishvendra Singh from their primary membership of the party,” said Randeep Singh Surjewala. “The purported sensational tapes that came forward have conversations of Union Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, Bhanwar Lal Sharma and BJP leader Sanjay Jain. It is a black episode for democracy.”
