Amid the Rajasthan political crisis, Sachin Pilot has earned another small win, even as the Rajasthan High Court has asked the Assembly Speaker to continue its proceedings as per status quo. Sachin Pilot and 18 other rebel MLAs who had dropped out of Congress were disqualified by the Speaker earlier and his order was challenged by them in the High Court. The speaker had in-turn gone to the Supreme Court, which passed the buck back to the High Court, asking it to deliver the order.

The Ashok Gehlot-led government in Rajasthan is currently in turmoil following the departure of Sachin Pilot and 18 other MLAs over alleged political differences. Following the tiff, Pilot was sacked from the posts of Deputy Chief Minister and State Congress President. Rumours were rife that Pilot was being wooed by the BJP, but he made it clear that he will not be joining the party. The future of the state’s political setup hangs squarely in the balance right now.
