Rajasthan Crisis: Sachin Pilot To Face Ashok Gehlot Today
With the Congress Legislature Party (CLP) meet today, the Congress leaders may come face-to-face, first time after the Pilot camp rebelled against Gehlot.
Three days after the Congress declared an end to its Rajasthan political crisis, Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot will meet Sachin Pilot, who revolted against him. The bitter rivals are expected to come face-to-face at a Congress Legislature Party (CLP) meeting scheduled for today (August 13), a day before the special session of the Rajasthan assembly. A month after Sachin Pilot’s rebellion against the Congress plunged the Ashok Gehlot government in a crisis, the Rajasthan CM said resentment among the party MLAs is “natural.” Following the return of dissident legislators to the part-fold, CM asked them to forgive, forget and move on.
With the CLP meet scheduled for today, with all of the Congress MLAs, the two Congress leaders are likely to come face-to-face for the first time after the Pilot camp legislators rebelled against the Gehlot government. Sachin Pilot returned to Jaipur on Tuesday (August 11), ending his month-long rebellion after a meeting with Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, who reassured him that his grievances would be addressed. But he arrived at a cold reception from Gehlot, who chose to fly to Jaisalmer, where he had put 100-odd MLAs to guard his flock for a possible trust vote.
