Hours after the Congress President Sonia Gandhi decided to form a high-level three-member committee to look into the grievances of all its rebel leaders in Rajasthan, Sachin Pilot who had rebelled against Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, called for restraint and humility. In a new political twist, former Deputy CM Pilot and CM Gehlot finally came together. “Not greed for the post, it was a battle of honour,” the former said. In Delhi, Pilot met former party chief Rahul Gandhi and leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, along with Ahmed Patel and KC Venugopal.

“Several things were said, I heard a lot of things. I was surprised by a few things that were said. I think we should always maintain restraint and humility. There is no place for personal malice in politics. We had formed the government in Rajasthan after five years of hard work,” Pilot said at late Monday night (August 10) after a meeting with Congress. Pilot, who has pitched camp Manesar with 18 MLAs, had earlier been accused of hobnobbing with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) to bring down his own party’s government.
