Pulwama: Terror Attack Averted By Jammu-Kashmir Security Forces
On Thursday (May 28), the security forces have prevented another massive car bomb attack in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pulwama district. The forces stopped a vehicle that was carrying over 45 kgs of Improvised Explosive Device (IED), which is enough to repeat the attack that took place in 2019. According to the police, a white Hyundai Santro car was asked to stop at the checkpoint but it accelerated and tried to go through the barricade. The blast was averted by the timely input and action of Pulwama Police, Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), and The Indian Army.
Inspector General of J&K Police, Vijay Kumar said that the occupant of the car, identified as Adil, is a Hizbul Mujahideen terrorist, who is also in touch with another terrorist group, Jaish-e-Mohammed. Addressing a press conference, Kumar added, “The security forces opened fire. We got intelligence about a possible attack. We were looking for a vehicle with IED since yesterday.”
