Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, while addressing students at a conclave on ‘School Education in 21st Century’ said that the newly approved National Education Policy will sow the seeds for starting a new era. The new policy aims to reduce school syllabus and make learning a fun-based and complete experience for school students. The Prime Minister said that students will have their new curriculums by 2022. He also added that under the new guidelines, the pressures caused by mark sheets will be greatly reduced.

PM Modi said at the virtually addressed conclave that the NEP is the result of ceaseless hard work of various stakeholders done over the last four to five years. He also added that the work is not complete and that the road ahead is to ensure its effective implementation. Among the aims of the new policy will be laying the foundations for developing scientific and mathematical thinking among children.
