1. Hardeep Pandhal

Ravi Jadhav’s Nude, tells the story of Yamuna (Kalyanee Mulay), who leaves her abusive husband and travels to Mumbai with her son. In order to fund her son’s education, she starts working as a nude model in JJ. School of Art. There, she meets arts teacher Mallik Sahab, played by Naseeruddin Shah, who encourages her to embrace and celebrate her body. The film sheds light on the world of artists, and the stigma that is attached to nude models.

We start the list with Hardeep Pandhal, is a British citizen of Indian descent, who completed his graduate degree from Glasgow School of Art. She’ a contemporary artist, hailing from Chennai. Aarti studied at Mumbai’s Rachana Sansad Academy of Fine Arts and Craft and later perused further studies at Netherlands’ Dutch Art Institute. You can check out her work here.

This Rachana Sansad graduate, started off as a painter but gradually moved on to exploring art in digital media through photographs, videos etc. You can check out his work here.

4. Shweta Bhattad

Shweta is a sculptor by profession and has graduated from the Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda. In 2015, she mad headlines by wearing a white saree, placing herself inside a coffin (with exhaust fans attached inside) and burying herself for 3 hours in Paris to garner attention towards the plight of farmers in India. 5. Sumakshi Singh
