Monday Motivation: Alo From Alo Chhaya Leads Fearlessly By Example And Keeps Us Inspired!

In the latest Zee Bangla TV serial Alo Chhaya, the lead character Alo (played by Debadrita Basu) is a force to be reckoned with. Not only is she an upstanding individual who practises exactly what she preaches (her husband Akash, played by actor Arnab Banerjee, sometimes mischievously calls her ‘gyaan didi‘), Alo Sengupta is a stickler for the truth at all times, and even takes immense risks to abide by it! Let’s take a look at some of the ways that Alo inspires us to do the same in our own lives.

1. Alo Fights For Her Rights

Alo has married into a very conservative family, and would often get into trouble for such petty things as not following the rule that all the women need to wait for a puja to take place before playing with colours on Holi. To be fair, she wasn’t even the one that broke the tradition deliberately, as it was her husband Akash who had playfully smeared abir on her face which her mother-in-law saw moments later and was horrified by. However, Alo didn’t even tell on Akash and blame him but rather, apologised for the mistake and quietly demonstrated what a non-issue it really was!

2. Goes Out Of Her Way To Help Those Who Are Suffering

When the Coronavirus pandemic first broke out, Alo went out of her way to ensure that the slum dwellers in her neighbourhood did not go hungry. She personally prepared and brought enough food for them all, and was responsible enough to take all the necessary precautions. Alo wore a mask and gloves, and sanitised thoroughly while doing so, and even quarantined for 14 days in a room in the house all by herself so she would not put anybody else at risk for stepping out.

3. Alo Risks Her Own Life And Relationships To Stand By The Truth

There is major foul play going on with Tirthankar Sengupta, Alo’s father-in-law’s medicine company, and Alo knows exactly who is behind it. It is one of their own family members–Baban, Akash’s younger brother–who is orchestrating all kinds of illicit dealings. However, this is a greatly delicate situation for numerous reasons, which is why Alo has taken great care and risk to investigate the matter and collect ample evidence. However, Alo’s family obviously does not want to accept the truth easily as it is quite harsh. To make matters worse, Baban has manipulated and won over Chhaya (played by Oindrila Bose), Alo’s best friend, and even rushed her into marrying him immediately to secure his position! Just imagine the terror this whole business strikes into Alo’s heart! Yet, she does not give up hope nor get discouraged, and perseveres bravely in order to free the truth.
