The trailer of the much-awaited ZEE5 Original drama, Mee Raqsam, is finally out! The story of Miriam (Aditi Subedi) a Muslim girl’s passion for dance, Salim (Danish Hussain) her father’s love and support for her and their struggle to achieve the freedom to dance. Directed by Baba Azmi, this film is presented by Shabana Azmi. The film is a homage to their famous poet father, Kaifi Azmi.

Mee Raqsam which stands for ‘I Dance’ is an emotionally moving and uplifting family drama, based on love, trust and going for the one dream that the society is against. The trailer shows us how a father stands against society in order to let his daughter live her dreams. It’s a beautiful narrative that revolves around the relationship shared by a father and his teenage daughter. Mee Raqsam is all about a young girl’s aspiration to become a dancer, and she has only her father who trusts, supports and helps her achieve her ultimate dream, even when the whole village is against her.

This trailer throws light on how promising and uplifting this film is. The trailer artfully manages to give the audience a transparent glimpse of how strong a father can be to let his daughter pursue her dream, whilst keeping his religious faith intact. Naseeruddin Shah has played the role of a Muslim leader Hashim Seth, who walks on the path of religion, and plays a pivotal role in  Marium’s journey. Danish Hussain plays a loving father who never fails to support his daughter’s dream, while newcomer AdAditi Subedi looks very promising too.
