Mayawati’s BSP Asks Six Rajasthan MLAs To Vote Against Gehlot Government
The six MLAs had earlier merged with the Congress party.
In a new unexpected twist in the Rajasthan political scenario, Mayawati’s BSP has issued a whip to its six MLAs in the state government, asking them to vote against the Ashok Gehlot Government in any proceedings of the house, including a no confidence motion. This comes despite the fact that the six MLAs from BSP had merged with the Congress party last year. BSP has said that it rejects the contention that they had duly merged their legislative party unit with the Congress.
A signed communication sent by BSP’s General Secretary, Satish Chandra Mishra on July 26 says that the six Rajasthan MLAs who were elected on the election symbol of BSP issued by its National President, Mayawati are bound by a party whip to vote against the Congress Government in the state. The Rajasthan Government is all set for a floor test in the Assembly and Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot is confident about the Congress party’s numbers ahead of the vote.
