Entering unfamiliar territory in terms of acting is nothing new for Manoj Bajpai, but he has now gone ahead and decided to tread completely new terrain – that of Bhojpuri rap. A new track called Bambai Mein Ka Ba has been released by T-Series in which the veteran actor can be heard belting out strong verses that pay an ode to migrant workers in the country. The music video for this T-Series track has been directed by Anubhav Sinha, who is collaborating with the actor after 26 years. Dr Sagar and Sankarshan Thakur have written the lyrics of this song, while Anurag Saikia has composed the music for it.

Bajpai, while speaking to an Instagram page named Humans of Bombay said that he had aspired to become an actor since the age of nine. He added, “I’m a farmer’s son; I grew up in a village in Bihar with 5 siblings–we went to a hut school. We led a simple life, but whenever we went to the city, we’d go to the theatre. I was a Bachchan fan and wanted to be like him. At 9, I knew acting was my destiny.”
