ITI Bags New Order For Fibre To The Home Roll-Out From Bharti Airtel Limited
ITI Ltd CMD R. M. Agarwal said that this is the first time ITI has diversified in the private sector.
ITI (Indian Telephone Industries) which is one of the oldest telecom public sector undertakings, has received LoI (Letter of Intent) from Bharti Airtel Limited for fibre to the home (FTTH) roll-out in eight circles in the country. In a recent interview, ITI Ltd CMD (Chairman and Managing Director), RM Agarwal said that this is the first time ITI has diversified in the private sector. This is the beginning of a new era for Bharti Airtel and ITI. Further, Agarwal said that the first phase of 3000 kilometres will be completed in four months.
According to the news reports, Bharti Airtel Ltd has also signed an MoU (Memorandum of Understanding ) with Ilantus Technologies Pvt Ltd to deliver made-in-India Identity and Access Management (IAM) solutions to government agencies. Under this MoU, ITI and Ilantus will address the challenges of fragmented identity landscape.
