Inspired By Gurumurthy’s Love For The Camera, Here Are 5 Tips For Amateur Photographers
Bhavani Singh, or more commonly known as Gurumurthy from Subbalakshmi Samsara, is a handsome and dashing lad who loves photography. Like him, a lot of budding photographers are passionate about capturing the fine things in life.
Watch this episode to feel Subbi’s pain when Guru takes a drastic decision:
Right from food to sunsets, people love to capture everything around them. Want to get better at it but don’t know where to begin? Here are five basic tips for all of you who love photography.
1. The trinity of exposure
Light is probably the most imperative factor when it comes to good photography. Not only does it affect the final product but also can be controlled according to how we want. The three contributors to help capture a good amount of light are the aperture, shutter speed and ISO.
2. Planning and discipline
In terms of setting a routine or schedule for your passion, it would be easier to plan your photos before-hand. Like plan to visit a local area near your house which probably has a small piece of nature in it, or you can even click people (with their permission of course). You have to discipline yourself from within in order to come up with a plan and follow it.
3. The sacred rule of thirds
Rule of thirds is all about composition. Generally, amateur photographers who don’t know this rule create one or two great shots just by fluke. Unless you don’t know about composition it is very difficult to get a great shot every single time. Basically, you have to imagine the screen divided into nine equal boxes. Now you have to ensure that the main subject of your photograph must be seen on any of the corners of the centre box.
4. Practise makes perfect
Of course, it goes without saying that to master any talent or skill, one must practise a lot. Practise anywhere possible, in the comforts of your home or outside. For this, you must remember to carry your camera with you wherever you go. This way you will also get accustomed to the camera and find easier ways to work with it.
5. The personal touch
Instead of trying to imitate professionals by the kind of photos they click, be your own creator! This is absolutely imperative because this provides your vision to the person viewing your photographs…they know it is from your heart and mind. It’s basically like your autograph in terms of photography!
Even though photography might feel like a piece of cake, there are various factors we have to keep in mind before going all in. But don’t worry, with the right amount of research, practise and awareness, you aren’t far from hitting the pro mark. Our beloved Bhavani Singh is almost there, wouldn’t you say?
