After its ban on TikTok and 58 other Chinese apps, the Indian Government has now issued a ban on 47 more applications. According to sources, the new list includes apps that act as clones or lite versions of those that have already been banned in India. Moreover, it is being said that the Indian Government has also prepared a list of more than 250 apps, including PUBG to examine user privacy or national security violations.

Among the newly banned apps are TikTok Lite, Helo Lite, SHAREit Lite, BIGO LIVE Lite and VFY Lite. The earlier list of banned apps included biggies like TikTok, SHAREit, Club Factory, UC Browser, WeChat and others. The ban came following the rise in tensions between China and India after a clash between the forces of the two nations took place in the Galwan valley region of Ladakh last month. The Government said that the apps were being banned because they were found to be engaging in activities threatening the “sovereignty and integrity of India.”
